You can avail of these two varieties of the storm window in almost every houseware depots and hardware stores.  You can purchase them with installation included or not. You can save anywhere in the range of 15-20% of the price if you put them in yourself.  But you’ll need a caulking gun, drill, and screw driver.  The fit and seal are two of the most important aspects. Although it might cost a bit more to have a supplier-recommended pro install your windows, deciding to do so will you save you time and effort.

The installation begins as your contractor will first measure every window to ensure that the custom storm windows will fit snugly into place. It usually takes anywhere from a couple of days to a couple of weeks to put your order together, before installation. Installation should take less than one day, depending on how many windows are involved.

Verify Your Installation

To install the storm windows properly, you must bear in mind two things.

1 – The window and screen sashes must be sealed tightly as you install them and both must also slide smoothly once installed. If poorly installed, the windows will not be aligned properly.

2 – All custom storm windows need to have a tightly caulked seal around their edges. Leaks will deflate both the performance of the storm windows and your savings.
